Personal Statement
My passions in life always have been medicine and art. I started making pottery when I returned to Gainesville, FL in 1992 after completing my medical residency. Putting my hands on clay has been as meaningful to me in creating a sense of well-being as working my patients. Over the decades, I enjoyed honing my skills, even completing an art residency at the Mendocino Art Center in California (October 2020). I have sold my work at different venues including the Downtown Arts Festival. I find great peace in art and enjoy portraying the beauty of our world in my work. I love teaching, both beginners and more experienced artists, helping them find enjoyment and peace through pottery.
